Lived there, done that…………..
Since we have been home, we have been catching up on some great t.v. Yesterday I saw an ad for this new NBC Show – Outsourced. The new comedy will be on Thursday nights starting in the fall. It looks like it has the real potential to be very funny. Of course, they will have to maintain a very careful balance so that the show is also not insulting. What I hope they don’t miss is the “life outside of the office” experience. Frankly, I think they need a writer who has actually lived it, perhaps a blogger with a bunch of material (already) in the queue, maybe a blogger who has over 100k hits on her beloved blog, perhaps someone with a sense of humor about how different life can be ……. hmmmmmmmmmmmm ……. maybe they will be calling me soon. 😉
Anyone have any contacts at NBC? If so, please feel free to pass them along.
LOL, I’ll get right on that one.
That’d be great – thanks!
Don’t forget us little guys in Japan, either…cuz I have the feeling your gonna get “the call” sooner or later. AndI’ll be the first one on line for season 1 DVDs 🙂
Little guys in Japan – ha! You’ll get a (paid) writing gig before I will – now you are going from Loco to just plain silly! Maybe you could CBS to drum up some competition with a sitcom based in Japan – maybe starring an English teacher from NYC – just sayin………
Is this based on the mediocre 2006 movie?
From the imdb thread, I see that a few people from Detroit and similarly-impacted areas in the US are angry and offended just by the concept of this upcoming series, which they find in poor taste considering how many people have lost their jobs due to outsourcing of their jobs to India (and other countries, of course).
I would probably not bother to catch this show. … I do hope that they have someone like you (or that they consult you!!) on staff to provide realistic plot points… you know, instead of making caricatures and rehashing stereotypes! :p
I think it is based on that movie – which I have not seen yet – but really, we lived it so I am guessing I could help out. 😉 And I really do understand that is very unfortunate that people have lost their jobs – I know a lot of people are in a bad spot and I hate that – but it is a reality that is not likely to change and when old jobs are lost, new jobs are created – like writing jobs hopefully. 😉
Have no fear my dear, I will remember!!!
That’s funny Ellen! That would be awesome if someone did call you!!!! Remember us little people when you become famous! 😉
