I wonder if this would work in the U.S…….

March 1, 2009

I had seen this sign once before – but I did not have my camera – dang it. I was so hoping that I would see it again and that I would have camera in hand. Wah Lah!

I have to wonder if the threat of embarrassing yourself is really a deterrent against traffic crimes. If so, how lovely! In the U.S., I am afraid this sign might actually serve as encouragement…..

I remember George Jefferson used to call Jenny, the Willis’ daughter, a Zebra. Now we have a Zebra president. God bless America. Don’t know why i thought of that…LOL

How nice of them to be concerned for the emotional well-being of the citizens.

Actually, in this country the threat of embarassment is reason to try to do so nationally by getting oneself on a reality TV show.

In a city notorious for a lack of civic-mindedness (even by the low standards of Indian metros in general, Delhi-Gurgaon-NOIDA stands out), I think that sign is just one more urban decoration that no one looks at, but one that the police have to put up to show their bosses that the funds allocated to signs have indeed been spent.

Oh yes, with certain people, embarrassment works, with a lot of others it doesn’t.
